Mountain Counties Water Resources AssociationWelcomes Pacific Gas and Electric Company to Membership
MOUNTAIN COUNTIES, Calif. July 28, 2025 – The Mountain Counties Water Resources Association (MCWRA) is pleased to announce that Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) has joined the Association as its newest Associate Member. PG&E’s membership reflects a shared commitment to strengthening partnerships that support watershed health, wildfire resilience, and sustainable water resource management across California’s mountain counties.
PG&E serves 16 million people across Northern and Central California, including many communities within the Sierra Nevada region. With a longstanding presence in the mountain counties and a deep operational footprint in hydroelectric power generation, PG&E brings valuable expertise and perspective to MCWRA’s collaborative efforts.

As an Associate Member, PG&E joins a diverse group of public and private sector organizations committed to safeguarding the region’s natural resources, infrastructure, and communities. MCWRA’s Associate Members play a vital role in advancing education, advocacy, and collaboration throughout the mountain counties.
MCWRA currently serves 52 Executive, Affiliate, and Associate Members across 12 mountain counties: Alpine, Amador, Calaveras, El Dorado, Mariposa, Mono, Nevada, Placer, Plumas, Sierra, Tuolumne, and Yuba.
Mountain Counties Water Resources Association Mission is to promote the statewide importance of Sierra Nevada water resources through advocacy and collaboration. Our vision is to be the premiere advocate to influence water policy and protection of the Sierra Nevada watershed. This Mission is realized through strengthening Members’ regional leadership, collaboration, information sharing, issue awareness, education, advocacy, and potential legislative action or legal support.
